Mena Alexandra Suvari (born on 13 February 1979) is an American model and actress. She is also a fashion designer model. Soon after her first job as a model, she began acting in guest roles on 1990's TV shows like Boy Meets World and High Incident. Her first film role in the 1997 drama Nowhere. The actress made her way to major roles with her performances on American Beauty for which she was nominated for the BAFTA Award and American Pie and American Pie, both of which gained more attention. Since then she appeared in Loser (2000) alongside the American Pie co-star Jason Biggs and later played the main role in the comedy film Sugar & Spice (2001). Spun And Trauma a thriller from 2004 featured two of her performances. The year 2004, she appeared in HBO's series Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in for 2005, as part of the Outstanding Ensemble. She was also cast in the film version of Day of Dead and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and in the film versions of The Garden of Eden. Suvari is a model for Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she has also appeared on several blogs and fashion magazines, including Vogue. Suvari has been a long-time activist and supporter to the African Medical and Research Foundation. Additionally, she is involved with charities that fight breast cancer, as well as End Violence Against Women.
